The day began with the discovery that my laser printer had issues & I needed it for the workshop!!!! I was expecting between 20-30 people so I decided the best plan of 'attack' would be to print out some Boddington Old & New photographs that I had either taken or sourced during my time in Boddington. I already intended the piece that we created in this workshop to be a community piece.... so I knew we could make this work....however I was keen for people to have the opportunity to use their own photos that they brought in....so I teed up the front desk to print out pics for the participants with the intention of working on the pre-printed pieces until this was done! It was meant to be a 9am start but quite a few of the participants didn't come until 10am thinking that this was the start time....in the end I had about 13 people attend this workshop....it was a lot of fun with another diverse group of people including the local art teacher from Boddington DHS. In the end it all went well, a number of prints were done on fabric & corrugated iron and then Cheree Alchin put them together as a Community artwork. I love the additions she made with the gum nuts, wood weaving, wooden pegs & fabrics...check out the result in the pictures below!
